Dr. Priya Deshpande, MD, Dip ABLM

Empowering you to take control of your health through compassionate, integrative care that blends medical expertise with holistic wellness.

Hi, I’m Dr. Priya Deshpande—a physician, cancer survivor, and founder of Deliciously Healthy MD.

When I was diagnosed with leukemia, I saw firsthand how true healing isn’t just about medicine—it’s about nourishing your whole self. Nutrition, movement, and mind-body techniques became just as powerful as my treatments.

Now, I combine both worlds. Through my consults at the Center for Primary Care and Culinary Medicine, I help others make small, doable changes that create lasting energy, balance, and joy.

Why did I pursue Integrative + Culinary Medicine?

The advantages I experienced from using both conventional and complementary medicine compelled me to explore how I can use these methods to help others, because I benefited from it and want to share that transformative power.

Throughout my battle with leukemia, I adhered closely to my oncologist’s recommendations, including a stem cell transplant and managing subsequent complications. Thanks to groundbreaking advancements in conventional medicine and a series of fortunate events, I survived cancer. Yet, I was left physically and mentally debilitated, which led me to pursue a fellowship in Integrative Medicine.

Surviving such a life‑threatening journey shifted something deep inside me. Every breath feels like a second chance—a reminder that being alive is a gift, not a given. Surviving cancer changed everything for me—it gave me clarity, gratitude, and a renewed purpose: to help others find strength, balance, and hope through their own healing journeys.

What defines my work is the ability to bridge modern medicine with integrative practices—helping patients take small, sustainable steps that lead to meaningful, lasting change in their health and lives.

I offer something unique: a balance of conventional and complementary medical expertise, personal experience, and compassionate, whole-person care.

As a Board-Certified Family Physician trained in Integrative, Lifestyle, and Culinary Medicine—and as a cancer survivor, I understand both the science of healing and the lived experience of illness.

What makes me different?

My Patients Benefit From:

  • More than conventional care: I combine evidence-based medicine with nutrition, mind-body therapies, and lifestyle strategies to support comprehensive healing.

  • Personalized attention: I take the time to truly listen, creating individualized treatment plans that reflect each person’s needs, values, and goals.

  • Practical, food-first tools: With my background in Culinary Medicine, I help patients make food an accessible and joyful part of recovery and prevention.

  • Whole-person transformation: My approach goes beyond symptom management to restore balance, reduce stress, and build long-term vitality.

  • Empathy and empowerment: Having walked this path myself, I offer not just medical knowledge but genuine understanding, encouragement, and hope.

  • Clarity and understanding: I help patients cut through the overwhelm of online health information and find an evidence-based path forward.

  • Expert knowledge: I provide education on nutrition and the smart, safe use of supplements to support overall wellness.
