My Story.
I am a Board-Certified Family Physician specializing in Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine, trained in Culinary Medicine, a mother, and a cancer survivor. With more than 25 years in family practice, I thought I truly understood medicine—until I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2018. That was a turning point in my life and my career.
After undergoing lifesaving treatments, including a stem cell transplant, I found myself physically and emotionally drained. While conventional medicine saved my life, recovery demanded much more. I could not return to my practice. I was too weak, and it was during Covid times. it was impossible to be exposed being immune suppressed. I turned to integrative approaches to rebuild myself —nutrition, yoga, mind-body therapies, movement, and supplements—to gain strength and restore balance. Gradually, I began to feel whole again.
This transformation led me to pursue a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. What began as a quest for personal healing evolved into a mission to help others. The realization that this knowledge and experience of what I just went through could be life changing for my patients. Surviving cancer—and later navigating complications amongst COVID—deepened my understanding of resilience and the preciousness of life
The Impact.
Surviving such a life‑threatening journey shifted something deep inside me. Every breath feels like a second chance a reminder that being alive is a gift, not a given. Surviving cancer changed everything for me—it gave me clarity, gratitude, and a renewed purpose: to help others find strength, balance, and hope through their own healing journeys.
I experienced firsthand how nutrition, mindfulness, and movement can renew both body and spirit. These modalities didn’t just restore my health; they gave me a new sense of purpose. Today, I feel stronger and more balanced than before my diagnosis.
My focus now is to guide others, especially cancer survivors and those with chronic illness—toward sustainable, evidence-based paths to wellness. Helping patients make small, meaningful changes that lead to lasting health is the most rewarding part of my work.
Integrative Medicine.
My recovery reinforced my belief in the power of combining modern medicine with thoughtful, integrative practices. Mind-body techniques, nutrition, yoga, and herbal support played vital roles alongside what conventional medicine offers. This experience convinced me that healing is most effective when it honors both science and the human spirit.
Through my training and personal experience, I’ve learned how to apply these approaches safely and effectively to complement traditional care. My goal is to share what has helped me heal—so others can find strength, balance, and joy in their own journeys.
